You & Us does… 24 Hours in Amsterdam
Last weekend we went on a little getaway to Amsterdam. We’ve put together a list of our favourite spots from the weekend, so if you have a visit coming up this may provide some inspiration!
If you wander along the Southern canal belt you’ll find the Bloemenmarkt, Amsterdam’s floating flower market. Walking through the market you’re surrounded by flowers from all sides and above your head. The beautiful flowers are definitely worth a look, just be prepared to see past the shelves and shelves of Amsterdam souvenirs.
We didn’t have a chance to visit the Riijksmuseum but the Museumplein area just behind it is a great spot to grab a coffee by the water. On our last visit this area was rammed with tourists queing to get a photo with the famous ‘I Amsterdam’ sign, but now that this has been removed it’s a lot more relaxed. Also, if you like modern, contemporary and street art then you can make the short walk from here to the Moco Museum to see artists like Banksy, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
We got lucky with some nice weather so decided to visit Vondelpark. Here you can hire bikes and take a ride around the ponds, take a stroll through the many cute gardens or just sit and relax in one of the large grassy areas. There’s plenty to keep you occupied for a few hours and it really is a beautiful park.
We are completely, head over heels in love with the amazing architecture. It’s such a stunning city to walk around and just take in the sights.
We hope you found this article useful and if you know of any other hot spots to visit let us know on our instagram @youandusevents.
